Warren-Morris Council of Governments

CoG to Partner with Regional Chamber of Commerce

Posted on Friday May 16, 2008 8:06 AM

The Warren-Morris Council of Governments has begun the process of applying for a state COUNT grant to fund shared service coordination. If the grant is awarded the services will be provided by the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce much as chambers do in other counties.

The Warren County Chamber would coordinate meetings of municipal representatives, department heads and school liaisons as well as conduct surveys of municipal services to determine areas of possible savings through shared services. At the direction of the CoG the chamber will also study areas of potential savings to determine if shared services could be implemented and apply for shared service grants.

As a regional chamber, efforts would not be limited to Warren County, and the chamber would also participate in efforts to recruit other municipalities in the region. For information on the services provided through partnership between government and the Chamber of Commerce in Somerset County, visit www.scbp.org and select the shared service link under Live, Work & Do Business.
