SHARE Grant Awarded for Document/Record Management StudyThursday September 25, 2008 7:32 PM
Five member municipalities have received a SHARE grant of $3,691 for the development of a plan for ongoing document/record management and the identification of possible savings through sharing services and joint purchasing of equipment. The participating municipalities are Mansfield, Independence and Washington (Warren) townships, Hacketstown and Washington Borough. The Mansfield School District is also participating. The Warren-Morris Council of Governments will hold a brief presentation on its activities followed by the following speakers: Michael Darcy of the NJ League of Municipalities, and Marc Pfieffer DLGS Deputy Director on shared services; Mansfield School Business Administrator Mary Roszkowski on new laws and their effect on school budgets; State Senator Steven Oroho (24th District) and Assemblyman Michael Doherty (23rd District). The informational session is open to the public and will be held at the Mansfield Municipal Building at 100 Port Murray Road in Port Murray on Monday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. Please email support @wmcog.org with questions. The Warren-Morris Council of Governments has begun the process of applying for a state COUNT grant to fund shared service coordination. If the grant is awarded the services will be provided by the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce much as chambers do in other counties. The Warren-Morris Council of Governments has welcomed two new members: Oxford and Hardwick township. The CoG currently has fourteen members in Warren and Morris counties and one in Hunterdon. |
